Pekka Montin

Pekka Montin is a Finnish singer and keyboardist who has held the keyboard-and-clean-vocals chair in folk metal band Ensiferum since February 2020 (Thalassic / Wikipedia). His melodic singing offsets the band's harsh growls, a contrast first heard on the album Thalassic (AllMusic). He also sings for the Finnish band Amoth (Metal-Roos).[edit]

Montin is Finnish; no birth date, hometown, schooling, or early-band history is confirmed by a reliable source. By 2013 he was singing with Amoth and Evil-Lÿn and guested on Majesty of Revival's "Infernal Grays" single (Metal Underground, Metal Archives). A previously claimed 2013 solo album of the same title was in fact the Majesty of Revival single; no solo album is on record.[edit]

In February 2020 Montin took over keyboards from Emmi Silvennoinen's successor Netta Skog and added clean vocals (AllMusic). Thalassic, a sea-themed concept album released July 10, 2020, on Metal Blade, was his first with the band (Wikipedia). Winter Storm followed in 2024 (AllMusic). With Amoth he sang on The Hour of the Wolf (Metal-Roos). Claimed tour dates could not be verified and are dropped.[edit]

A steady sideman with a melodic signature. On stage Montin anchors the keyboards while his clean singing lifts the choruses (AllMusic); on Instagram he posts tour and studio dispatches for a modest following (Instagram).[edit]

iFANN-only numbers, read from live data: YouTube: no data on record. Last.fm: no data on record (fetched 2026-10-12). Popularity rank: #41,548 overall, #31,293 by type (ranked 2026-10-19). He holds no placement in iFANN's Global Fame Engine Top 1,000 or any Top-100 scope list. His iFAMOUS footprint rides with Ensiferum's folk-metal following rather than a solo fanbase.[edit]

Thalassic means 'of the sea,' matching the album's oceanic theme (Wikipedia). The long-rumored Montin 'solo album' Infernal Grays was actually a Majesty of Revival single featuring his guest vocals (Metal Archives). He succeeded Netta Skog on Ensiferum keyboards (AllMusic).[edit]

No family detail is public. Montin keeps his private life out of press and social media; no parent, sibling, partner, or household is confirmed.[edit]
