Payam Salehi

Payam Salehi's legacy is defined by his role in breaking barriers for Iranian pop music. As co-founder of Arian, he helped create the first mixed-gender pop band in post-revolution Iran, a feat that required navigating censorship and threats. The band's albums were the best-selling records in Iran for four consecutive years, and their concert sold over 54,000 tickets in hours. Arian also earned a BBC World Music Award nomination, a first for an Iranian pop band. Salehi's solo work, including albums Hess and Barmigardam, further showcased his songwriting and vocal talents.
