Palm Angels began not as a clothing line, but as a photography project by Italian designer and photographer Francesco Ragazzi. In 2014, Ragazzi documented the skate scene in Los Angeles, capturing a specific blend of raw energy and laid-back style. This visual exploration, titled Palm Angels, laid the groundwork for the brand that launched in 2015 under the umbrella of the New Guards Group, a company that also supported Off-White before its acquisition by Farfetch.

The brand translates the spirit of California skate and surf culture through the lens of Italian luxury craftsmanship. Expect premium fabrics, precise tailoring, and signature graphic treatments, often featuring bold logos and collegiate-inspired lettering. Palm Angels is particularly known for its elevated tracksuits, hoodies, and graphic t-shirts, which have become staples of the luxury streetwear market. Its aesthetic, sometimes labeled 'luxury grunge' or 'new luxury,' embodies a sophisticated interpretation of subcultural styles.

Palm Angels has consistently expanded its reach through strategic collaborations and a growing retail presence. Recent campaigns, such as the Fall/Winter 2026 'Lost Frames,' have explored cinematic and nostalgic visual themes. The brand has also engaged with cultural touchpoints like the Balearic music scene through its partnership with Hï Ibiza and collaborated with iconic sportswear brands like Everlast.
