Paco de Lucía is widely regarded as the greatest flamenco guitarist of all time. His album Friday Night in San Francisco sold over two million copies, a rare feat for an acoustic guitar album. He received Spain's highest cultural honor, the Prince of Asturias Award, and a posthumous Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. Rolling Stone ranked him #47 on its list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists, and Guitar World placed him at #20. His innovations in flamenco, blending jazz and classical elements, created a new musical language.
