Moshfegh's debut novel Eileen won the PEN/Hemingway Award and was shortlisted for the Booker Prize, marking her as a major literary talent. Her novella McGlue earned two early prizes. She has received a Pushcart Prize and an O. Henry Award for her short fiction. Her work has been widely translated and continues to attract a devoted readership.
