One Kiss

Scottish DJ Calvin Harris and English singer Dua Lipa teamed up for "One Kiss," a dance-pop and tropical house track released as a standalone single on April 6, 2018. The song later appeared on the super deluxe reissue of Lipa's debut album, Dua Lipa: Complete Edition, and on Harris' 2024 album, 96 Months. Co-written with Canadian singer Jessie Reyez, the track blends 1990s electro house, Eurodance, funky disco, and UK garage elements, driven by horns, organs, and a synth-line over house beats. Lyrically, it captures the instant connection of falling in love after a single kiss.

Critics praised the throwback sound and summery vibe. It won the Brit Award for British Single of the Year in 2019 and landed on year-end lists from Billboard, The Guardian, and Time Out. The song spent eight weeks at number one on the UK Singles Chart, becoming the longest-running chart-topper for both artists. It also reached the top spot in 32 other countries, including Germany, Ireland, and the Netherlands. Multi-platinum certifications came in 13 countries, including Diamond status in France, Mexico, and Poland, and quintuple platinum in the UK. It was the biggest song of 2018 in the UK, the Netherlands, and Belgium's Flanders region.

Emil Nava directed the music video, released in May 2018. It features Lipa in front of a green screen showing various settings, including a pool where Harris appears as a waiter. The visuals and costumes drew praise. Harris and Lipa promoted the song with live performances on The Graham Norton Show, the 61st Annual Grammy Awards, and the 2019 Brit Awards. Remixes by Jauz, Oliver Heldens, and R3hab were released. With over 2 billion streams on Spotify, "One Kiss" remains one of the platform's most-streamed songs. [edit]
