Rolling Stone ranked him No. 46 on its list of the 100 Greatest Rappers of All Time in 2015, and Billboard placed him at No. 22 on its Top 50 Rappers of All Time in 2014. VH1 also ranked him No. 27 on its 50 Greatest Hip-Hop Artists list in 2010. His debut album went platinum, and his influence is heard across generations of hip-hop artists.

AwardsODB won two Source Awards in 1996: Album of the Year for Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version (tied) and New Artist of the Year (tied). He did not win any solo Grammy, BET, or MTV awards during his lifetime.
