Co-founding Transparency International changed the global conversation on corruption, giving rise to a worldwide network of anti-corruption watchdogs. Her leadership in the Bring Back Our Girls campaign brought international pressure on the Nigerian government and kept the plight of the Chibok girls in the global spotlight. At the World Bank, she oversaw a portfolio that touched millions of lives across Africa, and her work in Nigerian ministries helped set the stage for reforms. Her founding of Human Capital Africa and the School of Politics, Policy and Governance represents a long-term bet on the continent's future.
