    Simpson's football achievements are historic. He was the first NFL player to rush for over 2,000 yards in a season, a feat he accomplished in just 14 games. His Heisman Trophy victory margin remains the largest in award history. He was inducted into both the College Football Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and was named to the NFL 100th Anniversary All-Time Team. His sprint relay team at USC set a world record in 1967.
