About This Song
BTS released "Not Today" as the second single from their repackage album You Never Walk Alone on February 20, 2017. The track expands on the narrative established by their 2016 studio album Wings, blending hip-hop and moombahton elements with synth-heavy production. Lyrics penned by RM, Suga, J-Hope, and Pdogg address themes of injustice and corruption while maintaining a driving rhythm that distinguishes it from typical pop ballads.
Production duties were shared among Pdogg, Hitman Bang, Supreme Boi, June, and Adora. Director Yong Seok Choi led the visual campaign for the music video, which has since garnered hundreds of millions of views on YouTube. The song served as a key component in solidifying the group's presence in Western markets while topping domestic charts in South Korea.
