Nocturno Culto

Nocturno Culto's accolades are found in the reverence of the metal community rather than traditional trophies. His band Darkthrone is frequently cited in "Greatest of All Time" lists, with Transilvanian Hunger ranking among the top 100 heavy metal albums of all time in publications like Rolling Stone. Metal Hammer and Decibel Magazine have repeatedly named Darkthrone's discography as essential listening, with Transilvanian Hunger often appearing in the top 10 of "Best Black Metal Albums" lists across multiple publications. In late 2025, Skjellum was elected to a city council position in Norway without actively campaigning, a surreal event that highlighted his ubiquity and respect within his local community. This unintentional election reflected his status as a cultural icon in Oppegård despite his reclusive nature.
