    Overview

Imagine waking up after 820 years to find the world transformed. That is the premise of Noblesse, a South Korean manhwa that blends supernatural action with high school comedy. The story follows Cadis Etrama di Raizel, a powerful noble who slumbers for centuries before awakening in modern-day Seoul. Disoriented by smartphones, school uniforms, and instant noodles, Raizel enrolls at Ye Ran High School under the guidance of his loyal servant Frankenstein. But their quiet life shatters when a secret organization threatens both humans and his own kind.

Written by Son Je-ho and illustrated by Lee Kwangsu, Noblesse debuted on Naver Webtoon in December 2007 and ran for over a decade, concluding in January 2019. The series spans 543 chapters and was among the first webtoons to receive an official English translation at the launch of Line Webtoon in July 2014. Its genre blends fantasy, action, and slice-of-life elements, appealing to readers who enjoy vampire lore and school settings.

The manhwa's popularity spawned multiple adaptations: a 2015 animated short, a 2016 original net animation, and a 13-episode anime television series by Production I.G that aired from October to December 2020 on Crunchyroll. With its mix of epic battles and fish-out-of-water humor, Noblesse remains a standout in the webtoon landscape.
