Awards Won

Nkechi Blessing Sunday's trophy cabinet is modest by awards-season standards, but the MAYA Award for Omoge Lekki in 2016 marked a real arrival. She had produced the film herself, starred in it, and sold it, all without a major studio behind her. The Best of Nollywood Revelation of the Year nomination the same year confirmed that the industry had noticed. What sets her apart is not the count of trophies but the volume of work: more than 50 film credits, a production company she runs as CEO, and a philanthropic foundation, all built from a Surulere starting point with no family name in the business.

AwardsHer one confirmed award win is the MAYA Award in 2016 for Omoge Lekki, the film she produced and starred in the year before. She also picked up a Revelation of the Year nomination at the Best of Nollywood Awards in 2016, though that was a nomination rather than a win.
