Nightcrawler

Kurt Wagner was born in a small Bavarian village, the son of Mystique and Destiny. Mystique shapeshifted into a male form to conceive him with her wife. When Kurt emerged with blue fur and a tail, the superstitious villagers attacked, forcing Mystique to flee. She left Kurt in the care of Margali Szardos, a Romani sorceress who ran a traveling circus. Growing up in the circus, Kurt performed as an acrobat and trapeze artist, adopting the stage name "The Incredible Nightcrawler." He found solace in the Catholic faith and trained as a priest, but his mutant abilities made him a target. Professor Charles Xavier recruited him to join the X-Men, giving him a purpose and a family.[edit]
