Neytiri

Neytiri te Tskaha Mo'at'ite was born into the Omaticaya clan on Pandora as the second daughter of clan leader Eytukan and spiritual leader Mo'at. From a young age her father trained her in hunting, tracking and combat while her mother taught her the ways of healing and the Na'vi connection to Eywa. She grew into one of the clan's finest warriors and an expert archer.

Her life changed when she met Jake Sully in his avatar form. She first saw him as an intruder in sacred ground and nearly killed him. A woodsprite from Eywa stopped her and her mother then ordered her to teach him the Na'vi ways. What began as reluctant instruction turned into deep love and partnership after the destruction of Hometree and the death of her father. [edit]

Neytiri is fierce, independent and sometimes aggressive yet she shows profound love for Pandora's creatures and her family. She values the spiritual bond with Eywa above all and lives by the belief that all energy is only borrowed. Her quick temper often surfaces in battle or when her loved ones face danger.

She acts as a natural mentor and guide. Her name roughly means see in the Na'vi language which fits her role in teaching others to truly perceive the world around them. In the first film Neytiri shifts from skeptical warrior to devoted partner. She teaches Jake the Na'vi language culture and spiritual link to Pandora. After they fight together in the Battle of the Hallelujah Mountains she forms a permanent bond with him and he becomes Olo'eyktan of the Omaticaya.

By the time the RDA returns in 2154 she has become a mother to Neteyam Lo'ak and Tuk along with adopted children Kiri and Spider. The loss of her eldest son Neteyam in battle brings overwhelming grief and rage. She moves with her family to the Metkayina reef clan and struggles to adapt from forest life to the ocean while her protectiveness grows even stronger.

Across the saga she evolves from independent hunter to battle-hardened matriarch. Repeated loss and cultural upheaval test her yet her love for Jake and their children keeps her fighting as a healer leader and fierce guardian of Pandora.[edit]
