Newport County Association Football Club carries a history defined by resilience and reinvention. Founded in 1912, this South Wales side navigates the English football pyramid with a distinct identity marked by amber shirts and black shorts. The club's survival story is unique in modern British sports. After facing financial collapse in the early 2000s, the team was reborn through the Newport County AFC Supporters' Trust in 2002. This community-led model allowed them to climb from the non-league ranks back into the Football League, achieving promotion from the Conference National to League Two most recently in 2017.
