Neposedy remains an active children's music group, celebrating over three decades of nurturing young talent in Russia. Neposedy began as a graduation project. In 1991, Elena Pindzhoyan, then a 22-year-old student at the Moscow State Art and Cultural University, founded a children's music club at the Leningrad district's Pioneers Palace on Sretenka Street. The club quickly gained support from Yuri Nikolaev, a well-known Russian TV personality, and grew into a full-fledged performance group.

Initially, the group consisted of 15 children who rotated for each performance. Among the first members were 3-year-old Anna Topalova and her older brother Vlad, Vsevolod Polishchuk, the Malinovskaya sisters, and twins Evgeniya and Kseniya Tremasova. The group never had a fixed lineup, with children constantly joining and leaving as they grew older.

Over the years, Neposedy became a launching pad for young talent. In the late 1990s, Julia Volkova and Lena Katina were members before being recruited by producer Ivan Shapovalov to form t.A.T.u. Similarly, Vlad Topalov and Sergey Lazarev gained fame as the duo Smash!! after their time in the group.
