Namor

Namor was born in the 16th century as the first child of the Maya tribe that would become the Talokanil. Fleeing Spanish conquistadors and European diseases, his ancestors consumed a vibranium-laced plant that mutated them, granting the ability to breathe underwater and turning their skin blue. They built the hidden underwater kingdom of Talokan. Namor's mother, the queen, consumed the plant while pregnant, making him the first mutant born with enhanced powers. He was raised as a deity, named K'uk'ulkan after the Mayan feathered serpent god, and became the protector of his people.[edit]

Namor is fiercely protective of Talokan and its people, viewing the surface world with deep distrust. He is proud, regal, and unyielding, willing to wage war to safeguard his kingdom. Beneath his stern exterior lies a sense of duty and a capacity for mercy, as seen when he allies with Wakanda. In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Namor first approaches Wakanda to warn them of surface nations searching for vibranium. When his overture is rejected, he attacks Wakanda, killing Queen Ramonda in the process. This sparks a war between Talokan and Wakanda. After Shuri defeats him in combat, Namor agrees to a truce, recognizing Wakanda's strength. He forms an alliance with Shuri, vowing to protect Talokan and the world from external threats.
