Myla Grace

Shannon Mateer performs under the ring name Myla Grace and is a professional wrestler from Belfast, Northern Ireland. Born on April 29, 1993, she has built a reputation as a resilient competitor who blends technical wrestling with high-impact striking. Her career spans over a decade of work across the British and Irish independent circuits before she signed with major international promotions.

Grace gained significant recognition during her tenure with Over The Top Wrestling, where she captured the OTT Women's Championship. This title reign established her as a top contender capable of headlining shows. She later joined Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), appearing regularly on Thursday Night IMPACT and competing in the Knockouts Division against established stars like Elayna Black and Victoria Crawford.

As of mid-2026, she remains an active performer despite a recent release from TNA. Her style emphasizes physical storytelling and resilience, allowing her to connect with audiences through matches that prioritize athletic execution over scripted gimmicks. She continues to balance appearances between UK tours and international bookings, including a notable expansion into the Australian market. [edit]

Shannon Mateer grew up in Belfast, Northern Ireland, where her early interest in athletics laid the groundwork for her future career. Before stepping into the ring professionally, she trained in local gyms to develop the strength and agility required for combat sports. Her formative years were defined by a strong work ethic and a focus on physical conditioning rather than formal academic pursuits, though social media activity in 2026 suggests a connection to higher education at the University of Edinburgh.

Mateer began her journey on the dense independent circuit of the United Kingdom and Ireland. She competed in promotions such as Insane Championship Wrestling (ICW) and Pro Wrestling EVE, facing off against top-tier talent to hone her craft. These early matches allowed her to experiment with different styles, moving from fast-paced strikes to grueling submission holds. It was in these environments that she developed the "selling" ability that would later become a hallmark of her performances.

Her transition from amateur athlete to professional wrestler involved navigating the competitive landscape of the regional scene. She spent years building a portfolio of matches that showcased her versatility and charisma. By the time she secured her first major contract, she had already proven herself as a reliable mid-carder who could deliver quality entertainment in front of live crowds. [edit]

Myra Grace's breakthrough moment arrived when she joined Over The Top Wrestling (OTT). During this period, she won the OTT Women's Championship, a title that validated her status as a leading star in the British and Irish independent scene. This championship run demonstrated her ability to headline events and draw significant attention to the promotion. Critics praised her performance for its emotional depth and technical precision.

In 2018, she made notable appearances in WWE NXT UK and featured in the documentary Fierce Females, which highlighted her growing influence in the industry. Her visibility continued to rise as she moved toward larger platforms. In 2024, she appeared in the documentary Billion Years of Cosmic SHEvolution, further cementing her role in the evolution of women's wrestling.

Her biggest leap came with a contract signing for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). As part of the Knockouts Division, she competed on Thursday Night IMPACT! and engaged in high-profile feuds. In March 2026, she expanded her reach to Australia, debuting for World Star Wrestling (WSW) and winning the WSW Women's Championship shortly after arriving. This achievement marked a successful expansion into the Oceania market just before her release from TNA in June 2026. [edit]

Myla Grace projects an image of a modern, athletic warrior who prioritizes substance over spectacle. Media coverage consistently highlights her "fierce energy" and refusal to rely on gimmicks, positioning her as part of the new wave of women's wrestling that values athleticism and storytelling. Her aesthetic is clean and functional, fitting the demands of a sport that requires peak physical condition.

Critics and fans alike view her as a dedicated worker who balances multiple promotions with ease. She is known for her ability to convey emotion through physical performance rather than dialogue, earning respect for her technical proficiency. Her presence on social media reflects a grounded personality interested in music, university life, and behind-the-scenes wrestling content. [edit]

Myla Grace commands a following defined by its functional appreciation for athletic substance rather than the performative spectacle common in modern wrestling. Her supporters, numbering approximately 32,000 on Instagram and nearly 33,000 on TikTok, engage primarily through standard social media channels to track her matches, travel schedules, and academic pursuits at the University of Edinburgh. There is no formal moniker for this audience, nor are there records of organized fan clubs, specific rituals, or viral campaigns that distinguish her from other active competitors in the industry. The connection between Grace and her fans remains grounded in the immediate consumption of her work on promotions like TNA iMPACT! and WWE NXT UK, where she is recognized for a fierce energy that refuses to stay still. While locker room lore highlights her mentorship of Zayda Steel and her decisive Australian debut in March 2026, these narratives serve as professional anecdotes rather than the stuff of pop culture mythology or extreme public reaction. She lacks the documented history of street shutdowns, fainting crowds, or iconic viral moments that often propel wrestlers into broader cultural consciousness. Consequently, her status remains that of a respected athlete with a dedicated but unbranded fanbase that values her technical prowess over gimmickry. The iFANN Global Fame Rankings do not yet include her, as the organization has not gathered sufficient data to assign a global standing at this time.[edit]

Shannon Mateer maintains a connection to academia, having participated in an annual review process with the University of Edinburgh in early 2026 while balancing her demanding wrestling schedule. Fans often cite her exceptional ability to "sell" moves as a unique trait, noting how she can make a loss appear heroic or a victory feel earned without using dialogue. A widely retold story in the locker room involves her mentorship of fellow wrestler Zayda Steel, whom she reportedly helped financially during a difficult financial period in 2026.

Her Australian debut in March 2026 quickly became a key part of her lore after she won the WSW Women's Championship on her very first night in the country. Despite being a prominent figure in the UK and Irish scenes, she successfully pivoted to international markets without losing her core identity. Colleagues describe her as having a fierce energy that refuses to stay still, making every match feel dynamic regardless of the outcome. [edit]
