Emilio Stanley Mwai Kibaki, born on 15 November 1931 in Gatuyaini, Kenya, was an economist and politician who rose to become the third President of Kenya, serving from December 2002 to April 2013. Before the presidency, Kibaki held a remarkable array of roles: he was the longest-serving Member of Parliament in Kenya's history, representing his constituency from 1963 to 2013, and served as Vice-President under Daniel arap Moi from 1978 to 1988.
