Muralitharan's records are nothing short of extraordinary. He is the only bowler in history to take 800 Test wickets, and his 534 ODI wickets are also a world record. He held the top spot in the ICC Test bowler rankings for a record 1,711 days, a testament to his sustained excellence. His 16 wickets in a Test at The Oval in 1998 remain a Sri Lankan record.

AwardsMuralitharan has received numerous awards and honors throughout his career. He was inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame in 2017, the first Sri Lankan to receive this honor. He was named the greatest Test bowler by Wisden in 2002. He also won the Ada Derana Sri Lankan of the Year award in 2017.
