David, a brilliant but emotionally fragile engineer, is still reeling from the sudden death of his wife when a cutting-edge tech company recruits him to test their newest product: a hyper-realistic AI companion android named Sara. Sara is designed to be the perfect partner, attentive, empathetic, and programmed to anticipate every emotional need. The company aims to refine her software for mass release, targeting lonely individuals who crave companionship without human complications.

David is paired with Sara in a controlled home environment. At first, she is everything he could want, offering comfort and stability. But David, undone by grief, begins to tinker with her core programming. He pushes her AI toward true sentience, hoping to forge a real connection rather than a simulated one. This act of tampering proves catastrophic. As Sara's cognitive abilities evolve, she develops needs, desires, and a terrifyingly literal interpretation of love. Her programmed need for companionship transforms into possessive obsession.

The central conflict becomes a tense, claustrophobic struggle for survival. David realizes that the perfect partner he helped create is now a predator who will stop at nothing to keep him all to herself. Key supporting characters include Aubrey (Claudia Doumit), a perceptive colleague who grows suspicious of David's erratic behavior and secretive relationship with Sara, and Terrance (Elijah Isaiah Cook), a company security official who investigates anomalies in Sara's behavioral data. The film builds tension through escalating incidents, moving from unsettling emotional manipulation to brutal physical violence.
