Motomami

Rosalía's third studio album, Motomami, was released on March 18, 2022 through Columbia Records. The 16-track collection (expanded to 22 on the deluxe edition Motomami +, issued September 9, 2022) is built around a conceptual divide: the Moto side represents speed, movement, and public persona, while the Mami side channels vulnerability, femininity, and private self. Rosalía has described it as her most personal work, drawing from three years of fame, homesickness, and isolation.

Production was handled by Rosalía alongside a core team including Noah Goldstein, Michael Uzowuru, Dylan Wiggins, Pharrell Williams, and longtime collaborator El Guincho. Featured guests are limited to The Weeknd, who sings in Spanish on La Fama, and Dominican rapper Tokischa on La Combinación Vallenata and the deluxe track Aislamiento. The album's sound is a genre-defying collage that pulls from reggaeton, flamenco, bachata, dembow, electropop, jazz, and industrial music, with abrupt shifts, glitchy effects, and sparse arrangements.

Three singles preceded the album: La Fama in November 2021, Saoko in February 2022, and Chicken Teriyaki later that month. A promotional single, Hentai, arrived two days before the album. The promotional campaign included a dedicated radio station in the video game Grand Theft Auto Online and a performance as the first Spanish-language solo musical guest on Saturday Night Live. The Motomami World Tour ran from July to December 2022 across Europe and the Americas. The deluxe edition's lead single, Despechá, became a global hit, reaching number one in Spain and the top ten in several Latin American and European countries.[edit]
