Morlun hails from Earth-001, the hub of the multiverse, where he was born into the ancient family known as the Inheritors. This lineage has survived for millennia by feeding on the life force of Spider-Totems, beings imbued with the mystical essence of the spider. Morlun's earliest hunts took him across dimensions, where he honed his abilities and developed an insatiable hunger for these prey.

His first recorded encounter with a major totem occurred in 2001, when he targeted the Peter Parker of Earth-616. Prior to that, he had already consumed countless totems in other realities, building a reputation as an unstoppable predator.
