Moodring

Mýa's third studio album, Moodring, arrived on July 22, 2003 through A&M and Interscope Records. The 15-track set blends contemporary R&B with hip-hop and pop, showcasing a confident, sensual side of the singer. Mýa wrote nearly all of her own lyrics and co-produced many tracks, working with a dream team of producers including Ron Fair, Missy Elliott, Timbaland, Rockwilder, Damon Elliott, and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis. The album's sound ranges from the playful, horn-driven lead single My Love Is Like...Wo to the introspective ballad Fallen, with themes of love, desire, and self-empowerment woven throughout.

Critics praised Moodring as Mýa's most cohesive and varied work. It debuted at number three on the Billboard 200, selling 113,000 copies in its first week, both career highs for the artist. The album earned gold certification from the RIAA and has sold 589,000 copies in the US. To support the record, Mýa launched the Moodring Tour. In 2005, she parted ways with Interscope after five years. A digital deluxe 20th anniversary edition arrived in July 2023, featuring nine previously unavailable songs and remixes.[edit]
