Moira Shearer was appointed a ballerina of the Sadler's Wells Ballet at the exceptionally young age of 18, a testament to her extraordinary talent. She became one of the leading classical dancers of her era, performing all the major roles at the Royal Opera House. Her film debut in The Red Shoes made her an international star and brought ballet to a global audience. She was also honoured with the title of Lady Kennedy when her husband was knighted in 1994.
