Moğollar's greatest honor is winning the Grand Prix du Disque in 1971, a French award that placed them alongside Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd as recipients. This made them the first Turkish pop band to achieve such international acclaim. They are also recognized as the founders of the Anadolu Pop genre, a movement that reshaped Turkish music. Their music has been sampled by legendary hip-hop producer J Dilla, and their track Garip Çoban was used in a global Sony PlayStation 3 campaign. More than 55 years after formation, they continue to release new music and perform, cementing their legacy as pioneers.
