Mistress Kanan Is Devilishly Easy, or Kanan-sama wa Akumade Choroi in its original Japanese, is a delightful romantic comedy manga penned and illustrated by nonco. The story kicks off with the formidable demon lord Kanan achieving her goal of conquering a new world, only to be promptly defeated by a hero named Akira. Instead of facing execution, Kanan is presented with an unexpected proposal from Akira: marriage. This turn of events forces the once-powerful demon lord to relocate to the human world and navigate the complexities of modern life.

The manga humorously chronicles Kanan's often clumsy attempts to adjust to everyday human existence. A major source of comedy is her reaction to Akira's consistently sincere and straightforward affection, which frequently leaves her flustered and completely disarmed, despite her fearsome demonic reputation. The series' title itself plays on Kanan's surprising vulnerability to simple kindness and affection, a trait known as 'gap moe' in Japanese culture, highlighting how she's quite 'easy' or 'choroi' to win over.

Serialization began in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine on June 22, 2022. As of early 2026, 11 volumes have been released in Japan under the KC Deluxe imprint. For English-speaking fans, Seven Seas Entertainment is handling the publication, with the first volume arriving in October 2024. By early 2026, five volumes are available in English. The manga has also inspired an anime television series produced by Studio Kai, which aired from April to June 2026, and a second season is already in the works.[edit]
