Ministry's achievements are measured more in influence and sales than in trophy cases. Their albums The Land of Rape and Honey and The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste both went gold, and Psalm 69 reached platinum status. They were one of the first industrial metal bands to break into the mainstream, headlining Lollapalooza in 1992. Their longevity across four decades, with a constantly shifting lineup and evolving sound, is a testament to Jourgensen's vision. The band's political edge and sonic aggression have inspired a whole subgenre of industrial-tinged metal.
