As of 2026, he has become a recognizable face in television, with a career that spans acting, comedy, and creative direction. His performance as Barry in FUBAR (2023–2025) brought him international attention and showcased his sharp comedic timing alongside one of Hollywood's biggest action stars.

He is known for his energetic, motivational public persona and his commitment to encouraging young people to push their boundaries. With an upcoming guest role in HBO's I Love LA Season 2, he continues to expand his presence in the entertainment industry. [edit]

Milan Carter was born on September 29, 1987, in West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a neighborhood that shaped his comedic voice and relentless work ethic. He attended Overbrook High School, where he began to develop his leadership skills. He then enrolled at Lincoln University, a historically Black university in Pennsylvania, and graduated in 2009. During his college years, he served as Mr. Lincoln and SGA President, demonstrating an early knack for public speaking and community leadership. His birth sign is Sagittarius, and he proudly identifies as "a BLACK MAN" per his own social media statements.

Before breaking into acting, Carter spent a decade studying the art of branding and social media, working as a creative director and social media strategist. This background gave him a unique perspective on building a personal brand. His path to stardom was not linear; he candidly admitted in a Fox 29 interview that he "wasted a favor from Will Smith" early in his career, a lesson he now shares with students. He also credited winning over Kerry Washington and Leslie Odom Jr. during his FUBAR audition process as pivotal moments. The road to his breakthrough role was paved with persistence: for his FUBAR audition, he revealed that he "did at least 50 self tapes before I picked one to send in." Five days before the audition, he prepared intensely, and the resulting tape landed him the role of Barry. [edit]

Carter's acting career began in 2017 with small supporting roles. He appeared in the CBS sitcom The Neighborhood (2018) and the Nickelodeon series Warped! (2021), gradually building his résumé. In 2022, he landed a role in The Best Man: The Final Chapters, which increased his visibility.

His career-defining breakthrough came in 2023 when he was cast as Barry in Netflix's FUBAR, an action-comedy series starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. The show ran for two seasons, from 2023 to 2025, and Carter was a key member of the ensemble. Schwarzenegger personally told Carter on day one of production that Carter "made him break in the audition and that I was really funny."

After FUBAR, Carter continued to expand his portfolio. In August 2026, it was announced that he would join Season 2 of HBO's comedy series I Love LA as a guest star, alongside Taron Egerton, Jamie Chung, Benjamin Norris, Dylan Arnold, and Jessy Hodges. Beyond acting, Carter has expressed ambitions as a writer and director, teasing in a June 2025 interview with Far Out Magazine that "Acting is just the launching pad." [edit]

His comedic style is described as having "sharp comedic instincts" and an "infectious energy." On social media, he shares behind-the-scenes glimpses of his career and motivational messages. Milan Carter has transitioned from a regional Philadelphia success story to a recognizable international face following his breakout role in the Netflix action-comedy series FUBAR. Despite this surge in visibility, iFANN's Global Fame Engine evaluated Milan Carter as of August 2026 and determined that he currently holds no placement in the published rankings for the Global Top 1,000 or any Top-100 scope list. While his work alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger generated significant media coverage and streaming consumption signals worldwide, these metrics have not yet propelled him into the specific tiered positions tracked by the engine. The actor maintains a steady professional profile with approximately 77,000 followers on Instagram, reflecting a moderate audience typical of working actors rather than a massive cult following. Research indicates there is no formal name for his fanbase; enthusiasts do not operate under a moniker like 'The Carters' or 'Milanites,' nor are there records of organized fan clubs, Discord servers, or coordinated social media campaigns dedicated solely to him. His interactions remain rooted in standard industry promotional activities and local pride in West Philadelphia, where he is celebrated as a native son who made good through determination. Without documented fan rituals, charity drives funded by supporters, or viral legends involving crowds shutting down streets, the current landscape reflects a growing career defined by professional achievement rather than an established mythology or legendary fandom structure.[edit]

Carter spent a decade studying branding and social media before his acting career took off, giving him a unique edge in self-promotion. He submitted at least 50 self-tapes for his FUBAR audition before selecting the final one. Early in his career, he admits to wasting a favor from Will Smith, a cautionary tale he now shares with students. During the audition process, Arnold Schwarzenegger told Carter he was really funny and that the performance made him break character. At Lincoln University, Carter served as Mr. Lincoln and SGA President, demonstrating leadership skills from a young age. He describes himself as a multi-hyphenate actor, host, and creative force. In May 2023, Netflix featured his FUBAR audition tape on its Tudum platform, allowing fans to witness the casting process directly. This moment became a verified milestone for his career launch, though it did not evolve into a viral legend or folklore. Local Philadelphia outlets frequently highlight his background as a student leader and his recent rise as a multi-hyphenate artist, celebrating his success as a victory for West Philadelphia talent. As of late 2026, he has been cast in Season 2 of I Love LA alongside Taron Egerton and Jamie Chung, confirming his continued activity in the industry without generating new iconic moments or viral lore.[edit]

Per iFANN's editorial analysis, Milan Carter's net worth is estimated at $1 Million as of 2026. The bulk of his income comes from his acting roles, particularly his two-season run on Netflix's FUBAR . While exact salary figures for the show have not been disclosed, lead cast members on major streaming series typically earn in the range of $100,000 to $200,000 per episode. With 16 episodes across two seasons, that could have netted him a substantial sum. He also earns from comedy performances and any writing or directing work. His upcoming guest role on HBO's I Love LA will add to his earnings, as HBO is known for competitive pay. Before acting, Carter worked as a social media strategist, which may still provide occasional consulting income. His net worth has grown steadily since his breakthrough in 2023, and with continued roles, it is expected to rise further.[edit]
