Mike Macdonald

Born in Boston on June 26, 1987, Michael Macdonald has risen through the ranks of American football coaching to become the head coach of the Seattle Seahawks. He entered the professional league in 2014 as a defensive assistant with the Baltimore Ravens. His path took him away from the NFL for a season in 2021 when he joined the University of Michigan as their defensive coordinator. Macdonald returned to Baltimore the following year to lead their defense again before taking the helm in Seattle in 2024. In his second year at the top, he guided the team to a victory in Super Bowl LX, defeating the New England Patriots, the squad representing his hometown. This win marked a significant milestone in his rapid ascent through the coaching hierarchy.[edit]
