Mike Ehrmantraut

Mike Ehrmantraut grew up in Philadelphia. He served as a scout sniper in the United States Marine Corps before joining the Philadelphia Police Department, where he became a decorated officer. Like many on the force at the time, he took part in a culture of corruption that involved accepting bribes. He hid this side of his life from his son Matt, who also became a cop.

When Matt learned about the bribes and wanted to expose them, fellow officers killed him to keep him quiet. Devastated by guilt, Mike tracked down the two men responsible and shot them both.
