Miguel's career is marked by longevity and consistency. He won major honours at both Benfica and Valencia, and his 59 caps for Portugal place him among the most capped defenders of his generation. His contributions were recognised with the Order of Infante Dom Henrique.

AwardsMiguel won the Primeira Liga with Benfica in 2005 and the Copa del Rey with Valencia in 2008. He was also a runner-up at Euro 2004 and received the Order of Infante Dom Henrique.
