Reis is best known for her iconic role in Fallen Angels, which earned her a Golden Bauhinia Award nomination and international cult status. She is one of the few Eurasian actresses to achieve major stardom in Hong Kong cinema. In 1998, she was named one of the Fifty Most Beautiful People in the World by People magazine's Asian edition. She has been consistently listed in media compilations of the most beautiful women in Asia.

AwardsReis won the Miss Hong Kong and Miss Chinese International pageants in 1988. She received a Best Actress nomination at the 1996 Golden Bauhinia Awards for Fallen Angels but did not win. She has no major international film awards.
