    Michael Wilbon's career is marked by a series of firsts and honors. He was part of the inaugural class of the Medill School of Journalism's Hall of Achievement in 1997. He is one of the few sports journalists to have been inducted into three separate halls of fame: D.C. Sports, Chicagoland Sports, and Northwestern University Athletic.
