Mehdi Taremi's journey from the fishing ports of Bushehr to the Champions League final is one of the most inspiring stories in Iranian football. He is the first Iranian player to win the Primeira Liga top scorer award and one of the few to achieve the feat in multiple European leagues. His 22 goals in the 2022-23 season powered Porto to a domestic cup double. As Iran's captain and all-time leading scorer, he carries the hopes of a nation into the 2026 World Cup.
