Matthew Lawrence

Matthew Lawrence arrived in the world on February 11, 1980, in Abington Township. Born Matthew William Mignogna, he adopted his stage name early while launching a career that would span film, television, and voice acting. He started young, landing a memorable role as Stuart Hill in Mrs. Doubtfire alongside Robin Williams. That early success paved the way for a steady stream of work throughout the nineties and into the two thousands. Lawrence found his biggest breakout moment playing Cory Matthews' best friend, Shawn Hunter, in the hit sitcom Boy Meets World. The show ran for seven seasons and introduced him to millions of viewers. Before that fame took hold, he appeared in the anime dub Kiki's Delivery Service, lending his voice to the character Tombo. His versatility also led him to star in The Hot Chick and appear in the action series Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad. Television remained a strong suit for him, particularly when he reunited with his real-life brothers Joey and Andrew for the short-lived series Brotherly Love. This project highlighted their natural chemistry as siblings navigating life together. Across more than forty films and dozens of television appearances, Lawrence has maintained a consistent presence in Hollywood. He transitioned smoothly from child actor to adult roles without losing his appeal to younger audiences. Beyond acting, he expanded his creative output by becoming a podcaster and singer. His ability to shift between live-action comedy and animated voices keeps his portfolio diverse. Today at age forty-six, he continues to work in the industry while balancing personal projects outside the spotlight.[edit]
