Standing at 6 feet 0 inches, this left-footed talent has quickly established himself as one of South America's most promising young prospects since his breakthrough in 2022.

Currently a key figure in Rome's attack, Soulé combines technical dribbling with a keen vision that allows him to operate effectively between the lines. Matías Soulé grew up in Mar del Plata, a coastal city in Buenos Aires Province known for its strong football tradition and beach culture. Born into a family that loved the sport, he began playing at a local level before joining the prestigious Boca Juniors youth academy. The path was familiar for many Argentine boys, but Soulé's progression through the ranks was unusually fast compared to his peers.

Unlike many young talents who spend years grinding in lower divisions or on loan, Soulé rose rapidly within the Boca system. He made his senior debut for the club in 2022, stepping directly into the first team during a crucial period for the squad. His performances in the Copa Libertadores and the domestic league caught the attention of European scouts almost immediately.

The pivotal moment arrived in January 2023 when Juventus signed him for a reported fee of €22 million plus add-ons. Despite the massive move to Turin, the club immediately loaned him back to Boca Juniors to ensure he continued developing in the environment where he felt most comfortable. This strategy allowed him to refine his game against tough competition before fully committing to life in Europe. [edit]

Soulé's career trajectory has been defined by high-profile transfers and immediate impact on the field. After his loan spell at Boca Juniors concluded in the summer of 2024, he moved permanently to AS Roma for a reported fee of €30 million. During the 2025-2026 season, he was recognized as one of the best U21 outfield players by position, cementing his status as a vital part of the team's attack. His ability to score crucial goals and provide assists has made him indispensable to manager José Mourinho's tactical setup.

Injuries have tested his resilience, particularly a case of pubalgia in 2026 that required six to seven hours of daily rehabilitation. He overcame the setback to return to full fitness, demonstrating the work ethic that defines his professional approach. Throughout the summer of 2026, despite intense interest from Premier League clubs like Sunderland and Fulham, as well as AC Milan, reports indicated he would remain at Roma, continuing his development as a top-tier European footballer.
