Records
Mary Kom's record is unmatched in women's boxing. She is the only boxer, male or female, to have won eight World Championship medals, and the only woman to win the World title six times. Her Olympic bronze in 2012 broke barriers for Indian women in sports, and she followed it with gold at the Asian Games and Commonwealth Games. Her influence extends beyond the ring, as she has inspired countless young women to take up boxing, including athletes in neighboring Pakistan.
