Marlon James

Marlon James's career is marked by historic firsts and major recognitions. He became the first Jamaican author to win the Man Booker Prize, for A Brief History of Seven Killings, a novel that also collected the American Book Award, the Anisfield-Wolf Book Award, and the OCM Bocas Prize. That book was later named one of the New York Times Book Review's 100 Best Books of the 21st Century. His fantasy novel Black Leopard, Red Wolf was a finalist for the National Book Award and a New York Times bestseller. He has been recognized by the American Academy of Arts and Letters and received a Guggenheim Fellowship. In 2019, Time magazine named him one of the 100 Most Influential People in the world.
