Records
Johnson's coaching record is extraordinary: nine national championships with Wisconsin, more than any other NCAA Division I hockey program. He has been named AHCA Coach of the Year five times and WCHA Coach of the Year ten times. His ability to develop talent is reflected in the many Olympians and Patty Kazmaier winners who have played under him. Johnson's own playing career includes a gold medal in the iconic 1980 Miracle on Ice, where he led the team in scoring.
