Margaret Brennan

Margaret Brennan has spent two decades turning Washington's foreign policy machinery into something a Sunday morning audience can follow. Born March 26, 1980, in Stamford, Connecticut, she now moderates Face the Nation on CBS News, serves as the network's chief foreign affairs correspondent, and fills in as anchor on the CBS Evening News. She took over the Sunday desk in 2018, becoming only the second woman to host the program full time. Her path to CBS ran through business news. At Bloomberg Television she anchored the weekday show InBusiness with Margaret Brennan, and before that she worked as a CNBC correspondent contributing to NBC News programs. She joined CBS in 2012 as a White House correspondent, covering the Obama administration's second term and the early Trump years before shifting her focus to the State Department and global affairs. Brennan's reporting has taken her from the State Department briefing room to interviews with foreign ministers and heads of state. She has appeared across hundreds of CBS broadcasts, from Face the Nation and the evening news to special reports on diplomacy and national security. Her work outside the anchor chair includes board seats on the Council on Foreign Relations and membership in the Gridiron Club, plus alumni advisory roles at the University of Virginia and the Smurfit School of Business at University College Dublin. A University of Virginia graduate with a degree in foreign affairs, Brennan also studied at the University of Dublin's Trinity College. She lives in Washington with her husband, Yado Yakub, and their two children.[edit]
