Margaret Atwood's shelf of honors is staggering. She is one of only a handful of writers to win the Booker Prize twice, and she has also claimed the Arthur C. Clarke Award, the Giller Prize, and the Franz Kafka Prize. Her 2019 win for The Testaments made her the oldest Booker winner at age 80.Beyond fiction, she has been recognized for her poetry with the Governor General's Award. Her service to literature earned her a Companion of the Order of Canada, one of the country's highest honors. In 2018, she received the National Book Critics Circle Ivan Sandrof Lifetime Achievement Award, and in 2021, the PEN Allen Foundation Literary Service Award. She has also been named one of TIME's 100 Most Influential People.
