Machado's career is defined by rare consistency and durability. He has played at least 150 games in seven of his full seasons, a testament to his resilience. His 51 doubles in 2013 marked the highest single-season total by a player under 22 since 1936. He is one of only a handful of players to win a Gold Glove at third base before turning 22. His 2022 season, in which he slashed .298/.366/.531 with 32 home runs and 102 RBIs, was arguably the best of his career, earning him a runner-up finish in NL MVP voting.
