Maid of Honour

On May 15, 2026, Drake released Maid of Honour as one of three surprise albums dropped simultaneously, alongside Habibti and Iceman, through OVO Sound and Republic Records. The trilogy, his ninth, tenth, and eleventh studio albums, followed the collaborative Some Sexy Songs 4 U (2025) and marked his first solo work since For All the Dogs (2023). Lead single "Which One" had previewed the stylistic shift in July 2025.

The album leans heavily into dance, house, and electro, with production led by Gordo alongside O Lil Angel, Oz, APMelodies, and B4U. Critics described the sound as a "maximalist riot" and more intricate than his earlier dance-oriented album Honestly, Nevermind. The record draws from Afrobeats, Brazilian funk, and Chicago juke rap, though some reviewers noted these regional influences were somewhat flattened. Guests include Stunna Sandy, Sexyy Red, Central Cee, Popcaan, and Iconic Savvy. Lyrically, Drake stays in familiar territory: messy romances, wealth, sex, and substance use.

Critical reception was positive, with many considering it the strongest of the three albums. Pitchfork called it "the best album in Drake's comeback trilogy" and a "fuck-it club-rap record." The Needle Drop gave it a "light to decent 6," praising the production as "actually lively and exciting." Commercially, it debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 with 110,000 album-equivalent units. With Iceman and Habibti at numbers one and two, Drake became the first artist to hold the top three positions simultaneously. The album also entered the top ten in Australia, Canada, Portugal, New Zealand, and the UK.
