Made in the A.M. is the fifth and final studio album by One Direction, released on November 13, 2015, through Columbia Records and Syco Music. It marked the group's first album without Zayn Malik, who left in March 2015, and their last before an indefinite hiatus began in January 2016. The album blends pop and rock influences, with songs that range from upbeat anthems like "Drag Me Down" to more introspective ballads such as "Love You Goodbye." Lyrically, it explores themes of love, loss, and moving on, reflecting the band's maturity and the uncertainty surrounding their future.

Comprising 13 tracks, Made in the A.M. was preceded by three singles: "Drag Me Down," "Perfect," and "History," all of which cracked the top 10 in multiple countries. The album debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart with 93,189 copies and at number two on the US Billboard 200, shifting 459,000 album-equivalent units in its first week. Defying expectations, its first-week sales of 402,000 pure albums surpassed the 387,000 sold by their previous album, Four. It became the sixth best-selling album worldwide in 2015, moving 2.4 million copies, and earned generally favorable reviews from critics.[edit]
