Made in Lagos

Made in Lagos, the fourth studio album from Nigerian singer-songwriter Wizkid, arrived on 30 October 2020 via Starboy Entertainment and RCA Records. The record blends Afrobeats with contemporary R&B, creating a smooth, laid-back sound that feels both intimate and expansive. Wizkid sings about love, relationships, and personal growth, often in a reflective, almost conversational tone that draws listeners into his world. The album features a stellar lineup of guests, including Burna Boy, Skepta, H.E.R., Tay Iwar, Projexx, Tems, Damian Marley, and Terri, with executive production from P2J. A deluxe edition followed on 27 August 2021, adding new tracks with Buju and Justin Bieber.

The project earned a Grammy nomination for Best Global Music Album at the 64th Annual Awards, and Wizkid supported it with the Made in Lagos Tour, a 17-date North American run that kicked off in Boston on September 10, 2021, and wrapped in Montreal on January 22, 2022. Across its 14 tracks, the album captures a moment of creative confidence, blending Afrobeat rhythms with global pop sensibilities. Its title celebrates Wizkid's Lagos origins, and the record's production, mixed by Leandro Hidalgo, was praised for its crisp, clear sound.

Five years on, the album's influence persists. It returned to the top of Nigeria's iTunes chart in 2026, and Wizkid surpassed 500 million Pandora streams, with Made in Lagos leading the way.
