Luksika Kumkhum's career is marked by several historic achievements for Thai tennis. She reached a career-high singles ranking of world No. 66 in 2018, the highest of her career, and her upset of Petra Kvitová at the 2018 Australian Open remains one of the biggest surprises in recent Grand Slam history. She is a multiple Asian Games medalist, including a gold in women's doubles, and has won two WTA 125 titles. Her 18 ITF singles titles and 19 doubles titles demonstrate her consistency on the circuit.
