Podolski's trophy cabinet includes a World Cup winners' medal, league titles in Germany and Turkey, and domestic cups in four countries. Individually, he was twice named German Footballer of the Year, the youngest ever to win the award. At the 2006 World Cup, he was voted Best Young Player. He ranks third in Germany's all-time scoring list with 49 goals and fourth in appearances with 130 caps. His nine-second goal against Ecuador in 2013 remains the fastest in German national team history. In 2026, he capped his career by winning the Polish Cup with Górnik Zabrze, the club his father once played for, before taking over as owner.
