Luis Fernandez is one of the few figures to win major honors both as a player and manager with the same club, Paris Saint-Germain. He was a key member of France's Euro 1984-winning team, which is considered the golden generation of French football. As a manager, he delivered PSG's first European trophy, the 1996 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, a feat that cemented his legendary status at the club. His 60 caps for France and his role in the 'Carré Magique' midfield place him among the greats of his era. He is also one of the most successful French managers of the 1990s.

AwardsAs a player, Fernandez won UEFA Euro 1984 with France, the Ligue 1 title in 1986, and two Coupe de France trophies with PSG. As a manager, he led PSG to a domestic double in 1995, the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup in 1996, and another Coupe de France in 2004. He also won the Trophée des Champions in 1995.
